More evidence of building information modeling's (BIM) skyrocketing popularity can be found in this month's edition of CPC/BIM. A new survey reports a 75 percent increase in the use of BIM or BIM-related tools over the last two years. Furthermore, an astounding 80.8 percent of CPC/BIM's polled subscribers recently indicated that it is important for them to learn more about BIM through the newsletter. Also, the number of downloads for a software tool aimed at helping architects design more sustainable, energy-efficient buildings has risen to an all-time high of about 700 per month.

In other CPC/BIM coverage, new correspondent Tammy McCuen compares cost estimating in BIM to the traditional process of cost estimating, Doug Findley examines a "better way to maintain project logs," John Jurewicz  brings us up to date on the state of wireless communications for construction managers, Larry True probes the tricky science of construction estimating, the P6 Enterprise finally gains Gordon Aronson's respect, and don't forget "Industry Updates."
