Dear Moderator,

I’ve been involved with Engr-Tips forum for nearly 2 months already. One feature that yu guys can implement here is the member’s profile.

see example:

my profile

from the profile, one could see who’s active and not active. In addition, we can also know the expertise of the member...

Can also see how many post has been started and replied.

Just a suggestion...

Thanks

norzul

Different Forums have different options which can not be implemented wholly solely in other forums so your suggestion is good but it seems to be difficult in this forum.

Moreover, already developed profile in this forum is not too bad , serves the purpose.

    Hi Norzul,

I had a look at your profile on eng-tips.com and at your profile on PP. To be honest, PP gives more information about your experience, where the bulk of the information on eng-tips.com seems to be about the discussion forums you use. I don’t think adopting the eng-tips.com style of profile would benefit PP.

    Hello Norzul,

    I like your idea.

I hope PP will have the same. How do you propose to move towards achieving your into reality here in PP.

    Cheers,

We have member profiles at the PMKB forums that allow you to enter biographical information and professional credentials, but most people will get a sense of your competence by your participation in discussions IMO.

    Hi Stacy,

I like the way you’ve got the profile information displayed, but you’re getting the same problem as every other forum, including PP; you only get the information that people are prepared to give you.

While profiles can be quite useful, to be honest, I very seldom look at them. If you browse through the forum for a bit, it becomes fairly evident which members to ask for advice, try out an idea on or you would want to work with, and which ones are full of bull.

    Regards

Mr Randell, look forward to seeing future mud sling shots from the thought police on that last comment.

    I protest Mr Randell.
Monitoring this threead I discover risky postings by men seem to bypass the thought police.
This is a blatant case of sexism.
