Can not select task type

I just started a new project and i entered two activities so far.

I want to select task type.

i am at task information > advanced tab, and i see the options there but they are disabled.

I can not select task type . Effort driven checkbox is also disabled

    These options are disabled

    These options are disabled for summary tasks and for manually scheduled tasks.  I would suspect yours is manually scheduled.

    I am learning MS project and

    I am learning MS project and very excited to use it for our new project. I was having the same issue. Thanks for the solution guys.
