Hi planner,
I have a stupid question, an activity has a predecessor, relationship is FS, if the predecessor activity type is WBS summary or Level of effort. Then the activity will not drived by the predecessor. Can somebody kindly give me an explain. Thanks!

    Hello,

Level of Effort tasks should only be linked with predecessors, with relationships SS and FF.

I never try with WBS Summary, that I use for specific things.

    Good luck.

    Hi GENSHENG

You are right - only use FS links from level 4 tasks.

Build up to levels 3 2 1 by use of summaries.

This is called bottom up planning and it works in detail.

P6 ignores relationships for WBS-Summaries becaus they are spanned over a WBS - which might be the complete project.

Levels of effort have no own duration. they depend on their predecessors and their successors. They don’t drive a successor.
