dear guys,

i want to apply the gobal change to change the resources for around 2000 activities.
there is a resource with the name of pipe fitter
i want to change this to the mill wright resource.

one way to change is going to the resource assignments and deleting the pipe fitter assignment and replacing it to the mill wright.but in this case the budgeted units/time has to be changed manually.so it will take more time.

so i want to apply the global change for these 2000 activities out of 7000 activites.


how to do this guys.

please guide me.

    Global Change:
    Select Subject Area: Activity Resource Assignment

    If
    Where: Resource ID Name equals pipe fitter

    Then:
    Resource ID Name = mill wright

    Dear sir,

    i want to change the resources pipe fitter assignment for only 2000 activities With mill wright.
    i mean there are many more activites for which the pipe fitter is assigned and i dont want to change that to mill wright.
    i want to know how to filter these actitvities and apply the global change

    Kumar,
    Filter all activities before running global change. If there is no available data to filter those activities then you have to create something like UDF or Activity Code or intelligent Activity ID. You can also include that filter criteria to your global change.

    isn’t there any particular characteristic that you can filter your activities based on that?

    dear Sir,

    there is no filter for these activities.
    so as you mentioned i will create a activity code for these jos then i will filter it and apply the global change .

    That is correct. You can include those criteria when applying global change.
