How to import sql database from Primavera P6 Professional R8.3.2 to Primavera P6 Professional 17.12.1

Hi,

I recently changed my P6 version from Primavera P6 Professional R8.3.2 to Primavera P6 Professional 17.12.1 when migrated to a new laptop. I exported the backup file from 8.3.2 but is unable to restore to 17.12.1.

Is it imposible to restore from 8.3.2 to 17.12.1 or is there any other way it can be done? 

Note: Old laptop was running on Windows 7 and current one is running on Windows 10.

    the schemas are different for

    the schemas are different for the different version. install 8.3.2 on the new laptop then restore the database then upgrade to 17.12.1
