reading material for verifying subcontractors schedules

I would like to read up on how to evaluate sub contractors schedules and become a master at it. I dont want them to pull the wool over my eyes in any way.

I would like to know all the games they play to slap claims and delays/ crap schedules that cant be met in the first place onto you if you are in the position of being client.

Also best practices on how to verify the schedule such as CPM etc
How to track each month the updated schedules they give you to see where is is falling down. Trends and how to compare from month to month.

any ideas?

    Dear M,

There are a lot of good references in the aacei guides. You will have plenty to ready.

    Have a great day.

    With kind regards,

    Dear Martyn,

    1) A good start for reading is your project’s contract documents:
    - COC (Contractual Milestones dates)
    - Specs (Days for approval of submittals)
    - Drawings (Physical structure of the project, WBS,)
    - BOQ (qtys for verification of durations, required resources, CSI coding and cost loading)

    2) Reference books on standard production rates

    3) Ron Winter’s website has a lot of good info on baseline verifications).

    4) AACEI docs

    5) PEO docs

    6) Search PP for relevant topics that you might need

On checking delays, you can do the following:
    - Delay Analysis - compare Baseline vs. Current
    - Periodic Slippage Analysis - compare Current vs. Previous Update

    Hope the above helps.

    Best regards,
