    Dear Emily, Your proposition

    Dear Emily,

Your proposition is ridiculous and at least 6 top 10 years out of date - the so called ‘expert’ who wrote the piece you are linking to has non idea what he is talking about.  There were two manual calculation options - the correct way and a simple ‘old way’ used decades ago when major schedules were calculated by hand (ie, the 1960s, 70s and into the 80s.  See: http://mosaicprojects.wordpress.com/2014/10/01/schedule-calculations-old-and-new/

In particular, the PMI exams have needed the correct calculations for at least the last 6 years, probably longer.

Pat (and I'm old enough to have used the 'old way' on schedules for multi-million dollar projects).
