Integrating Google Earth / GPS data into Linear Schedules - What are alternatives?

We have been using generated Google Earth pictures to show the routes of High Voltage and Pipeline projects in the TILOS schedule as a separate ribbon along the location axis. Based on little simple macros we were creating KML files that we could load into Google Earth to see the locations on a map. The pictures taken we added then to TILOS files.

Has anyone tried out different programs to generate map or satellite views to a project?

    No I have never tried it - I took one look at the integration links and macros and switched off immediately.

    I would prefer to use on site video updates and hyperlink integration.
