Cumbria – Contract Site Planner (Civils, Freelance)

Location: Cumbria, UK (Low‑Level Waste Repository – LLWR) 

Employment Type: Freelance – Inside IR35 

Day Rate: £500/day + accommodation 

Contract Length: 6‑month rolling contract 

Overview: 

A long‑term contract opportunity for a hands‑on Site Planner to join a critical civils project at the Low‑Level Waste Repository (LLWR). This is a site‑based role working directly with delivery teams — ideal for planners who prefer boots on the ground.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Develop and maintain short‑term and lookahead programmes
• Monitor progress, identify delays, and flag risks
• Provide regular updates to PM and project controls
• Support engineers and supervisors with upcoming work fronts
• Ensure programmes are realistic, resource‑loaded, and site‑driven 

Ideal Candidate: 

• Experience as a Site Planner on major civils projects
• Practical, “mud‑on‑boots” mindset
• Proficient in P6 or Asta
• Strong communication across site teams
• Able to work independently in a dynamic environment
