I have been tasked with re-designing the border of all our programmes. We use ASTA, but what information would you expect to see in a border when you first look at it. I have my own opinions, but wanted to get a opinion base.

Thanks

    Hi Ronan

The first thing to do is to take off the software logo.

After that the sky is the limit on what you can put on the Border.

It all depends on who will be looking at the printed page.

An internal reviewer may need to see confidential information such as the author - total float - target date etc

File Path and Version Number are useful information

Whereas the employer would need a different set of information.

I try to keep things simple by using the F9 text key which lifts data from the file and embeds it in the border.

Particularly useful is the View Name which tells the reviewer exactly what is on the chart.

    Best regards

Hi Ronan, Just to add to

    Hi Ronan,

Just to add to Mikes useful start.

You need to consider how you develope your programmes, if you work with Views then the View Title will be your Programme title,

Your programme need to have a unique number as I work with Views this would be the View Programme number, it should also have the date of issue and the date of any revision, together with issue and revision comments. If its a progress version you may wish to add the progress date.

I keep the file path in small text outside the main border together with the filter.

    Good afternoon,

How do I redesign a Border file in order to have the time scale top and bottom?

    Is this possible?

Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated.

    Kind regards,

    Hi Darren,File > Print >

    Hi Darren,

File > Print > Print Options > Appearance > Date zone > Display at foot.

Adding the legend to every page is something we're adding in the next release as several folks have asked for the same feature!

    Cheers,

    Ben @ Powerproject
