Hello friends,
I am here to get a proper advise regarding a purchase of New version of p3e.

I have joined in a new company and i am the only one know p3e. I suggest to buy p3e. Now i dont have much idea about the client server installation and stuffs. First of all, is there any major difference between p5 & p6 ? I never worked in p6 but p5. If i go with p6 what edition i suppose to purchase ? We three users are there in office. As i had quick chat with primavera reseller, they said 1425+285 GBP per named license. Thats not an issue. The information i required is what specification i suppose ask to get. I mean like database or something . A brief idea of server client installtion proceders will make me easy. Is it same installtion process of standalone version ? I know its not but i dont know otherwise. My intention is to install the software on the server and use by three users same time. We have an IT department in the office and having many servers. I dont have any idea about server client installation. A detailed advise would be appreciated.
Regard
Suresh

    Yes.
Install procesure is same. The diffrence is Liscense.txt
After installation you should check the port of your Personal Computer. Open the port 1433 of MS-SQL 2005 Configuration manager & MS WINDOWS XP HOME/Professional.
On Server PC you should add user(login name) for client user (Primavera Admin-User MENU)
    And make a database connection!
    That’s It...

    Hi Suresh
For a server installation you’ll need an MS-SQL-license as well. For stand-alone, the license is included.
In P6 there are some Web-features. If you intend to use them you’ll better let the installation be done by the PAR.
