Activity completion

My activity is starting from 4.6.09 and ending on 16.6.09 . But due to certain circumstances , it got only 80% completed on the finishing day due to which its actual completion appended to 18.6.09. Since the activity was critical , what steps we could have taken to complete the activity on time knowing that activity is going to be delayed?.

    Rohit,

    Ask for Extension of time if you cannot mitigate the delay by adding more resources. Or just let it be there are other activities in the critical path that you can reduce duration so that the end of project is as per planned.
