Tip and trick for Primavera P6.X.

As you can see using Primavera P6 with integrated database system MS SQL SERVER are memory eater even do we are not running the programme. The are several "pre-load" running service or background service on startup Windows. Actual don’t need it, cause when we are having on less 1Gig RAM in ours then the laptop or desktop will starting moving "slowly " especially after we open then close the Programme.

After we close Primavera the best thing to do is to free up our laptop/desktop RAM memory by

1. Click Start The select RUN
2. Type in the box with this command line {net STOP "SQL Server (PRIMAVERA)" } without { }..

it will stop the service and freeup a lot of memory space.

To using back the Primavera Programme just do back the above step but with a command line {net START "SQL Server (PRIMAVERA)" } without { }.. before run Primavera P6.

Another Method is by creating MS-DOS Batch file...

Simply by open notepad programe or type in RUN command line notepad.....

put this below command.....

@echo off
net STOP "SQL Server (PRIMAVERA)"

then save as the file at desktop as SQL_STOP.bat

do another file with above method with the following command...

@echo off
net START "SQL Server (PRIMAVERA)"

then save as the file at desktop as SQL_START.bat
