Hello Planners,

I have an issue importing P3 plans into P6. When I go to file and choose import, of the options available import Primavera Project Planner - (P3) always remains greyed out and not possible for me to check?
The same happens if I select an existing project for export the option to export as a Primavera Project Planner - (P3) file cannot be chosen.
I do have Primavera Planner P3 ver 3.1 installed too.

Can anyone shed any light on why I cannot import these P3 files into P6?

Many thanks.

Regards

Robin.

    Hello Robin,

    Revert to my thread titled
    " P6 Ver. 7 bug when importing from P3 "

It is a software bug in V7 as well as V 6.2

    Hi Yasser,

I have read your thread but I do not have the same problem as you.

I have P3 installed on my machine.

I do not get the choice to even import the P3 plans to P6 as the choice toggle is greyed out on the import tab. I think that there is an internal switch on the P6 programme that needs checking or I do not have compliant software for the import?

    Cheers

    Robin

Try not to use the backup files.

USE the folder into which the P3 files are copied (from copy function not Backup)

    Hi Robin,

I think you don’t have the users access privilege to import P3 project.

    I understand that starting

I understand that starting with version 6.2 of P6 that unless P3 is already installed when P6 is installed, then the button for importing and exporting p3 is grayed out.

If P3 was installed when you installed P6, then I would suggest that you get help from Oracle (good luck).  I don't know why Oracle has to make it difficult.
