hi all,
I’ve been working with P6 for a few weeks now, and there are some things I still don’t get.
one of them is the scheduling process.
in P3, I had a master project, and numerous subprojects.
the scheduling was easy, it was done in the master, and if you clicked the right option, the data date was copied in every subproject, and that was it.
in P6, I created several projects (as ancient subprojects), containing tasks of differents areas.
I can easily schedule each project separately at the date I want, and the tasks that have not been finished (or started) yet move forward, leaving the baseline behind.
but when I try to schedule all projects at once, all I succeed to do is moving the data date, and the planning acts as if everything’s okay. the tasks fill themselves with blue, even if I did not check the start checkbox.
I’ve tried the "apply actuals" and "update progress" functions, but they do exactly the same...
I’ve read something about a "master", but I don’t get how to build this.
thanks for your help,
djo
