Renumbering activity ID's

Dear Planners

I'm trying to renumber all of the activity ID's in a plan I've copied from a previous project. I want the numbers to run sequentially through the various WBS in this new version but they appear to be renumbering to the same sequence as the original ie the order the activities were created. is there a way to override this ?

    Dear Bob, I don't know if

    Dear Bob,

    I don't know if it's right or not ,I suggest you setting  the sequence of all activities in only "sort" dialog box and  meanwhile deleting all the "group by"settings . You can renumber activities IDs  in the new layout after sorting activities by "WBS"and "start".

    Please refer to the following image.

    1-just group and sort by

    1-just group and sort by required activity codes/wbs or groups  accroding to requirments

    2-create ac id in excel and replace with globle change.

    Hi BobIn P6 7 is renumbering

    Hi Bob

    In P6 7 is renumbering easy. Go to Edit and select tab "renumber activities". You have various options but you can create any number you desire.
