I'm new to P6, trying to run installation in my destop. I find it difficult proceeding when i got to DATBASE CONFIGURATION.

Version 6? I suggest u to use
Version 6? I suggest u to use some higher versions. 16.2 is available.
Installation tutorials are available in youtube
