Hello all planners,
I have my experience in Oil and Gas Industries I have been assigned as a planner for high rise building (over 50 floors), appreciate if any can give me some key points to look for when building the schedule.
Also knowing the area of the building and the cycle for each floor (which is 6 days for each floor) how can I calculate the number of tower cranes and stationary concrete pumps required to meet the target dates?

    Who are you working for?

I have worked in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

I too would be interested to know the answer to your question. Never planned a high rise building before.

What’s it like planning for the oil & gas sector? What jobs have you worked on in the oil & gas industry?

Requirement for concrete pumps is derived from quantity of concrete to be placed divided by out put from pump.

Requirement for tower cranes is similar, calculate number of lifts required (number of table forms, bundles of rebar etc) make an estimate of how many lifts can be made in a day.

Divide total number of lifts per day by number of lifts per crane = number of cranes required. Note at some stage you need to make allowance for crane downtime due to maintenance and high winds,
