Hi,
In the resource analysis of P5, there are multiple the fields being shown:

-Remaining Early Units
-Remaining Late Units
-Limit
-Cum Budgeted Units
-Cum Actual Units
-Overallocated Early Units
-Overallocated Late Units

Which among the fields above will I use to calculate manually the needed "Limit" (that is, how many more people I need to hire) per month to resolve all overallocation and overcome or compensate for the late units/work or uncompleted units/work from the past months??

I tried resource leveling but it will push out the schedule’s finish date by 2 years!!! So the only thing now is to increase manpower. But how to know how many more manpower we need per month? By using fields above and calculate it, right?

Don’t worry about working out in detail and in advance the perfect resource solution.
Just start assigning new, different resources to the tasks where the the currently assigned resources are currently over-allocated. Choose the tasks for which the resources are most over-allocated, or the tasks which get most severely delayed by leveling.
Also, choose the tasks in the near future.
It doesn’t matter so much if the tasks in the more distant future still have over-allocated resources or if they still appear to get severely delayed.

This will cause an improvement immediately, in that the resources will not be quite so over-allocated and the leveling won’t cause such severe delays.

Then just keep doing more ofd the same until the over-allocation disappears and leveling doesn’t cause any task delays.
