What is the best method and/or software to effectively schedule resources?
I’m trying to schedule resources (people - crew members and contractors)long term. I need to maximize working time, reduce downtime and overtime.
Looking for something that’s easy to use, view, and understand. Would be a plus if it’s not too expensive.

    Microsoft project and primavera for project planning. Don’t have any for resource scheduling at the moment. Just take information off multiple outlook calenders, but I’m looking into Wallchart and Replicon? Any suggestions.

    Try Spider Project. It is the best for resource scheduling. Demo can be downloaded from http://www.spiderproject.ru/demo_e.php
    There are different versions (Lite, Desktop, Professional) - the price depends on your choice that shall be based on the features that you need.
