Currently I have a master schedule that contains all 9 projects in one file. Due to the inter-relationships between them, it was easier for me to create activity codes to filter the projects within one file. Are there any benfits to spending the next several weeks for me to re-number the 6000+ activities with id’s that will fit into the smart numbering necessary to convert my one master file into the master/sub-project scenario. Even with using global change I still have individual activity re-work to make the activity id’s more user friendly over the long haul. I didn’t use an intelligent numbering system when doing the initial set-up due to lack of time and ended up using all ten digits. An owner’s agent has requested that I revise my master schedule to the master/sub-project schedule so that he can download each project from my master project separately. However, even Primavera Technical support has informed me that the way I have set all projects up in one master project file with codes is superior to the master/sub-project situation. your comments are appreciated.
