Copying Activities and Keeping Ext Links

I am copying blocks of activities basically acting as a template. the internal links between them are kept but the external ones that are linked to fixed milestones are lost. Is there a way of keeping these? P3 has an option.

    Mark,
    I don’t think it’s faisable, as MS project stores the external link from the current project task to the root and to the external project task.
    You could edit the external link in the Predecessor or Successor column, may be easier than create the link from scratch
