Dear All,

I have created a schedule and the same has been approved by the clients. Now we want to monitor the progress based on this schedule. I have saved a copy of this original. Now the following steps were done by myself to track the progress: 

Tools - Tracking - Set Baseline (Baseline 1) ,for Entire Project . OK.

Then in the Gnatt Chart I introduced two columns for the Actual Start & Actual Finish along with Start and Finish of the approved schedule dates.

Then started to update the progress by entering the Actual starts and finishes for the activities, my dates in the Start and Finish also changes.

Not able to show the clients of the present condition.

Can anybody help me.

    Rohit, When updating actuals,

    Rohit,

    When updating actuals, open the Activity Details, click the activity you want to update  and then check the started box, input the actual start date and enter % complete on the Duration% and repeat for each activity. If the activity is already 100% complete checked finished box and enter actual finished date.

    There is no box to be checked for started to be highlighted in the Task Informatin box. Am using MSP2007.

        i think you suggest for primavera. In MSP there task information in which there is three checking 1 plan 2. baseline 3. actual.

    Rohit   Updating the actuals

    Updating the actuals will override and overwrite the start and finish dates. Start and finish are live fields and will update to reflect the current bar dates. If you want to show against the planned dates then you need to show baseline start and finish columns.

    Of course they do.

    Considering the start date, a task has either a planned start date (if it has not actually started), so that start = earliest start, or an actual start (if it has actually started), so that start = actual start.

    Similarly, the finish date.

    Switch to the Tracking Gantt view and the Tracking Table. Everything you need is there.
