Updating Baselines in P5

Heres the situation:
I already Maintained and Assigned a Baseline then update the activities actual start and finish dates and scheduled it to the new Data Date.
After I scheduled the project my Boss instructed me to add some activities to the Original Baseline ..What is the best way to do this.???
What I did is detached the Baseline and add some activities and also add activities to the current and attached again the baseline.
Is this the best way to do this or there are some easiest way to resolve this situation im thinking about the update option under the maintain baseline.
