Apply actuals P6 vs Update progress in P3.1

Hi,

I believe both apply actual in P6 and update progress in P3.1 serves the same purpose of updating the progress as per the planned one.

Is there any other difference between these two. if any , pls explain......

    of course they are, one of them P6 have type of progress (duration, physical)so u have to define which type are going to use....
