SDEF File to XER File ( vice versa )

Hi,
 
Does somebody knows how to generate SDEF File and to convert to P6 XER File or vice versa.
 
In addition, what is the advantage of using SDEF File since this is my first time I heard this SDEF File.

    I recently added an SDEF module to mpxj, since it already handles every other format I've ever seen.
