Hello. Good Afternoon. I want to create a S- Curve to control the schedule of the project and to compare planned and real status of an activity. First of all, I would like to know what I have to do to create this curve using excel. Second, when I have a graph that shows in the X axis time and in the Y axis %completed of an activity and I say that this is a 60% S curve it means:
1- After completing 50% of the activity I have 60% of time running or
2- After 50% of time completed, I have 60% of the activiy conmpleted.
Finally, I would like to know, how I can create this 60%- S curve
My thanks in advance

Primavera and Micro Planner X-Pert will create S-Curves as part of the EVPM process that is built into these products
Visit www.microplanning.co.uk and download a copy of Micro Planner X-Pert and develop your plan in a proper planning and scheduling tool and not in Excel

First you need to define your "unit of measure" If you are talking about the whole project, you can either use manhours (time) or cost (Money). You can resource load your programme either using excel or P3 or any other planning tools and then produce a weekly or monthly output (tabular report) depending on the projects requirement.
In P3 you can define what type of curve is suitable to meet your so called 60% curve (linear, front load, back load, bell curve, etc.) or you can manually calculate and adjust the the output to meet your requirement.

I presumed you already know how to create a progress chart in excel. If you have anymore queries, please let us know.

    Best regards,
    Daniel
