Bucket planning in P5

Hi, Im using P5 and I want to do bucket plannning on a activity. The activity duration type is a "Fixed duration & Units".

Now, in the resource assignemnt window, why I cannot manually edit the daily assignment (budgetted units) on the future dates? P5 evenly assigned the hours per day but I want to edit it. Please help.

    you cannot because you fixed it, try other options

    Hi thanks for the reply,
    What do you mean, I fixed it? The duration types in P5 are: "Fixed Units", "Fixed Duration & Units", "Fixed Units/Time", "Fixed Duration & Units/Time" only.

    Right now the daily budgeted units looks like this:
    1-May 2-May 3-May 4-May
    Activity xxx 5h 5h 5h 5h

    I want it to be changed to:
    1-May 2-May 3-May 4-May
    Activity xxx 2h 2h 8h 8h


    So pls tell me how to do it. Thanks.

    Hi Yusuke,

    Try to change the The displayed timescale unit in the spreadsheet is smaller than the minimum timescale unit used for time-distributed resource calculations. You can change this setting in the ’Interval for time-distributed resource calculations’ field (User Preferences, Resource Analysis tab). For example, if this option is set to Week, you can only enter or edit data in weekly, monthly, or quarterly timescale buckets.

    If it is still not working try to read "Manually enter or edit future period assignment values" in the help menu.
