I’ll have a go Francis - the trouble is the definition usually depends on the context in which the phrase is being used.

Tie-in: Something that is related or connected to another; an association or connection between things; the act or method of joining two disparate systems.

Hot changeover: The switch from one system to another with minimum downtime, preferably none. If possible the new system is started before the old system is decommissioned and the two systems run in parallel until the new system is proved.

Hook up: Generally to connect a mechanism and a source of power.

    With kind regards,
