Hi Planners,
Looking for some advice / suggestions.
I have a project group, with several sub-projects, the sub-projects are for different areas of the contract, namely green field, brown field, procurement and E&I.

There is a planner for each sub-project, and when all are busy in their respective sub-projects, the speed of P3 is rather slow.

So is there anything I can do to speed it up?

Each planner has P3 on their desk top, and the project group resides on the server, in a shared folder.

    Kevin,

Not much you can do. There once was a server-side component you could buy for btrieve format files, but that’s long gone from the store shelves.

My choice in heavy duty LAN environments is to put the P3WORK directory on the local hard drive, rather than the network drive. This usually helps a little. All you lose by doing this is a shared FRAGNET project, i.e. everyone has their own list of fragnet components rather than a common pool. Its worth it.

Try using the Check Out/Check In functionality.

    Hi Guys,

Thanks for the suggestions, the check-out / in, works great, except for the F9 bit, but that’s expected.

    Keep Planning
