Strange P3 files

Hello planners,
from time to time, I get P3 files with an extension like 02, 04, 05; size is always 1 Kb
does somebody know where they come from and what they are for?

I was told this a long time ago. Cannot remember the answer, but seem to re-cal they are temporary files
