Entitlement to time

Hi Guys,
First post on the forum, have used it many times as a point of reference though!!!
I am currently seeking an Extension of time and am currently in Amicable Settlement with the Employer, they have awarded a very small EOT which we have rejected. Throughout discussions we have have proven entitlement much greater than that awarded.
We are using Impacting As Planned even though its after the event, the Employer is happy with this and so am i as it hides concurrency!!! Concurrency will probabaly be dealt with when we go to recover prolongation costs, at the minute our aim is to avoid LD's. During discussions with the Employer they have based our entiltement based upon what was in our Baseline, eg if we had a duration for laying a length of pipe we had to use the same duration for our delay analysis for the same lenght of pipe. Also when we tried to put logic into our impacted programme again they would only allow it if it existed in our baseline.
My question is this, Is the Employer entitled to do this, can they only award you time based upon what your baseline logic, durations etc said or should it be based upon whats fair and reasonable.
e.g as part of my analysis i have put logic in showing Detail design cannot complete until receipt of Geo Technical investigation report, this has been rejected on the basis that this link does not exist in the baseline, although in the baseline schedule the Geo technical investogation is complete many months before design is due to complete therefore meaning the link was not necessary??
thanks
John
