A "fragnet" is a series of tasks added to the programme that re create the events that caused the delay.

It can be just one bar.

The last task in the fragnet is linked to the impacted task in the programme.

There are three types of delay impact:

1. Delayed start

2. Interupted work

3. Delayed finish

Selecting the correct delay determines where the link goes.

It is best not to change the logic of the baseline programme unless it is flawed.

Missing links can be added but ALL constraints must be removed.

So can this fragnet be one or more activity labelled for example as "Time Delay - XYZ" and added before the delayed activity in the network logic to represent the delay? Also what if there are multiple delayed activities in different phases of the project plan due to different reasons? can we add a seperate delay activity/activities prior to each delayed activity

and what precedes the fragnet? the activity preceding the delayed activity in the baseline?

1. Fragnet

This word is a combination of "fragment" and "network". "fragment" means "a part of activity" and "networks" means "have a relationships.".

A part of activity is for "Extended duration" or "Late Start". Relationship express the cause and effect of delay.

This question is related to "Concurrent Delay". You can input fragnets that have a definite evidence to one activity. and you can establish different relationship each fragnet. When fragnets are in same time zone, or are effecting to same activity, these fragnets are called "concurrent". The Responsibility of fragnet is next problem.

3.what precedes the fragnet? the activity preceding the delayed activity in the baseline?

Fragnet can have so many situation. Based to real situation, you have to  establish relationships.

For example, assume a situation "storm". You can insert a fragnet named "storm". and the start of fragnet is with contraint. It means no have predecessor, but the effect of storm is related to many activities. So you have to establish Successors for every activity that is lated start.

Multiple events have to be placed in an Events Schedule and sorted into chronological order of date of impact.

Fragnets are then created in the analysis programme and linked to the impacted tasks and rescheduled in turn.

The start of the fragnet is held by a must start on or after constraint.

Hi Dujin

The simplest way to place an event called "storm" in a delay analysis is to add non working days to the calendar.

If some tasks were not affected then set up two calendars.
