Hi Team.

Can anyone explain why I am having difficulty with my start time when statusing my programme?

My problem is as follows.

I have created a programme, copied it and applied this as my baseline before starting my first update.

The problem is, when I give an activity an actual start date the start time becomes 1200am where as the baseline shows the activity starting at 8am - as per the calendar.

Now the weird thing is - if I go to user preferences and select show hours/minutes then status activities they indeed start at 8am (without me changing it). Then if I hide hours/minutes and continue to status activities they start at 12am again???

Can anyone tell me how to fix this - I do not want to have to show my hours/minutes in the duration.

They main problem with P6 doing this is that the actual bar and the baseline bar do not match up as one starts at 12am and the baseline starts at 8am - remember the baseline is a copy of the programme I am updating.

Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.

    This will happen only when you are importing from Excel. In such case, please incorporate Calendar timing along with your dates.

    Any other solutions?

    Virendra,Open the appropriate

    Open the appropriate calendar, click on Detailes work/hours per day,

    click on specific 30mn periods to switch from off to on

    by default, the working day spans from 8:00 am to 12:00 am and from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm

    1st you need to turn your

    1st you need to turn your times on edit user prefernces Dates tab under time select 12 hour show minutes 

    2nd set the project start time to 8:00 am or the earliest starting times of of all of your calendars say 8:00 am

    3rd then you need to set your data date time to 8:00 am or the earliest staring times of all of your calendars.

    4th all start minestones should be set to  8:00 am or the earliest starting times of of all of your calendars

    5th all finish milestones times should be set to 5:0 pm or the latest finishing times of all your calendars

    6th the project must finish by date should be set to 5:0 pm or the latest finishing times of all your calendars

    7th all actual start dates should be set to  8:00 am or the earliest starting of of all of your calendars

    8th all actual finish date should be set to  5:00 pm or the latest finishing times of all of your calendars

    9th edit user prefernces time units tab under durations format make sure that decimals are set to 2 places.

    10th look at al of your originial durations and remaing durations and make sure that they are whole numbers

    11th press F9 and change the data date time to 8:00 am or the earliest starting times of of all of your calendars

    done
