i am currently working on a deep basement project for my university coursework and was wondering if someone could help me with a case study of deep basement construction shedule[ microsoft project]. dosent matter what type of building it is i just want to use it for a reference.

i am mainly intrested in the work packages from start to finish as long as the building has a deep basement.

i hope this makes sence and i look forward to your replies.

    Hi Lincoln Welcome to

    Hi Lincoln

    Welcome to Planning Planet

There are so many variables in your question that it isimpossible to cover the whole field.

Perhaps you can narrow it down a bit.

    Roughly how deep is deep

What will the space be used for

Is it a confined site or an open field

    Is the site reasonably level

What is the sub - soil structure

Have you got a structural engineer's report

Are there any restrictions on vibrations

Are there any restrictions on noise

Are there any known utility services on the site

Is there a good access to the site for plant and equipment

All of these and more will influence the choice of construction method so please come back when you have a clearer idea.

    Best regards

thank you for your reply we

    thank you for your reply

we were not told what the building will be and our project jus concentrates mainly on building a basement with two floors

the site is 76x33m and 10m deep.

the two floors are of steel frame with block work walls around the parimetre of the building.

the site is reasonably level and the is a water table around 5metres deep.

there are adjucent buildings and also have to arrange for a diversion of services

access to the site will be difficult as the area of the building will take up most of the site.

we were instructed to prepare a work shedule in microsoft project and that was the reason i was asking for an example so that i can use it as a reference for my project.

all the outputs for excavations; piling; ground anchors and blockwork etc i already have. i just wanted an example of a shedule that will build a deep basement up to ground level.

hope i have answered your question and managed to narrow my question.

thank you again for your reply and look forward to hearing from you again

unfortunately i cannot attach any of my drawings so my question can be clearer but hope this helps.

Hi Lincoln 10 m is not that

    Hi Lincoln

10 m is not that deep.

In view of the constrained site an open cut is not possible.

    tasks in order of appearance.

    1. Divert all services

    2. Reduce level to flat surface

    3. Lay pile mat

    2. Drive secant piles - which should hold back the water table but have standby pumps ready.

    3. Install ring beam

    4. Excavate to first prop level - consider conveyor belt for extracting spoil.

    5. Install lateral props if required

    6. Excavate to formation - consider method of removing excator from pit.

    7. Install underslab drains and services plus drain sump - assume no lift pit

    8. If heavy clay lay anti heave barrier

    9. Lay basement slab

10 RFC Basement columns and/or walls

    11. FRC Ground floor slab

    12. Remove props

13 Internal block liner and basement partitions

    I trust that suffices

    Best regards
