    - Lag usage is generally

    - Lag usage is generally discouraged in scheduling guidelines because they require explanation and they make the schedule static; the lag does not automatically update to changes in predecessor activities. So the takeaway is to avoid using lag in scheduling your project, regardless of the relationship type.

    • This is a biased statement as it is not true that lag does not automatically update to changes in predecessor activities, volume lag does.

Using cookbook recipes does more harm than good, all is needed is a good schedule reviewer capable of thinking by himself, capable of discerning between what is acceptable and what is not, capable of figuring out when exceptions to general rules make sense.

The differences among the US Agencies specifications and what is good practice and what is not is a proof that cookbook recipes do not make sense.
