Hi all,

I maintain Open Planner Studio, an open-source (LGPL-3.0) scheduling application for construction, part of the OpenAEC Foundation. It runs in the browser without install or account, and as a desktop app for Windows, macOS and Linux.

I'm looking for planners who want to test it on real schedules.

What may be relevant to you as a planner:

- CPM: total/free/interfering float, FS/SS/FF/SF with lag, eight constraint types, near-critical threshold, multiple float paths, LOE tasks.

- Opens P6 .xer and P6 XML, MS Project .mpp (2010–2021) and MSP XML. Current projects in a multi-project .xer open in separate tabs; cross-project relationships are not used in CPM.

- Calculation profiles for P6 and MS Project conventions, with Retained Logic and Progress Override. P6 Actual Dates is not supported.

- Imported files show the dates as the source program recorded them, and tell you how many tasks a recalculation would move.

- Baselines, progress via an .xlsx/.csv sheet, resource levelling, eleven reports including a DCMA 14-point check.

- Tests include 560 data-driven cases, 13 P6 reference cases and start/finish comparisons with MS Project data from 216 .mpp files.

Not there yet:

- Projects save to IFC 4.3. Export goes to P6 XML or MSP XML; .mpp cannot be written and .xer export is in development.

- P6 XML export omits baselines, activity codes and custom fields, and converts LOE to standard activities.

- .mpp import skips baselines, costs and custom fields.

- No cost management and no 4D model linking yet.

How you can help:

- Test it on a real schedule and tell me where the dates differ from P6 or MS Project, or where your workflow gets stuck. The feedback button in the app works without a GitHub account.

- Send anonymised .xer or .mpp files. Real files help most to improve the import: https://github.com/OpenAEC-Foundation/open-planner-studio/discussions/71

- Request features that would make it usable for your projects, through the feedback button or in GitHub Discussions.

- Contribute code through a pull request.
