Introduction
M6.1 — Governance, Decision Rights & Accountability establishes the arrangements through which the project is directed, controlled and held to account. It explains how to define governance forums, authorities, tolerances, escalation routes, roles and information requirements so that decisions are taken by the right people at the right level, supported by reliable evidence and followed through to action.
M6.2 — Integrated Change Control provides a disciplined method for assessing and deciding proposed changes to authorised scope, schedule, cost, risk and intended outcomes. It develops the learner’s ability to define the change clearly, assess its cross-discipline consequences, distinguish genuine change from forecast movement or corrective action, identify available options and ensure that approval decisions are based on the complete impact rather than a single favourable dimension.
M6.3 — Configuration & Baseline Control ensures that approved project information, deliverables and control references remain identifiable, consistent and recoverable as the project evolves. It explains how to define configuration items, maintain version and status records, preserve approved baselines, implement authorised changes coherently and prevent different teams or systems from operating against conflicting versions of the project.
M6.4 — Assurance, Reviews & Independent Challenge tests whether the project’s plans, controls and reported position are credible enough to support decisions and commitments. It covers proportionate assurance planning, evidence-based review, verification and validation, independence, follow-up and closure, helping the learner distinguish constructive challenge from administrative compliance and use assurance to expose weaknesses before they become delivery failures.
M6.5 — Governance Reporting, Decisions & Action Management brings governance, change and assurance together within a controlled management cycle. It teaches the learner how to present decision-focused information, maintain traceability from evidence to recommendation and decision, record conditions and accountabilities, monitor actions through to verified closure and ensure that governance produces timely intervention and improved delivery rather than simply more meetings and paperwork.
